STATEMENT:
This body of work is both process driven and time dependent. Comprised in serials of between two and four images at a given time, I make all my creative decisions for painting through digital sketching, exploring the interaction of colour, value, saturation and composition withn a strict geometric format. A strict adherence to the sketch allows me to focus on the process of producing the paintings, a slow and meditative procedure involving strtching and preparing the linen, measuring distances, taping and masking and painting the multiple layers, assuring me that angles and lines are correct when I remove the masking and taping. Balance in composition with precision in line and colour are important to the final works.
